A Stitch in Haste

A Stitch in Time Saves Nine...But Haste Makes Waste

A collection of real-world libertarian, individualist and laissez-faire rants on law, economics, politics, culture and other current events

What's Chinese for "Chutzpah"?
(Why aren't you reading this at the new website?)

---
If China's Communist dictators weren't so brutal and bloodthirsty, then this would be downright hilarious:
China has suspended imports from several key US meat suppliers after months of international scrutiny over the safety of Chinese food and drugs.

Officials said they had found salmonella and growth-enhancers in several imported US chicken products.
...
Most of the firms have not yet commented, but a Cargill spokesman denied the claims.
Because people the world over are getting sick from eating American meat and poultry, right? Oh wait, that was Chinese toothpaste, not American meat. Never mind.

Meanwhile:
Tests have confirmed that a strain of salmonella found in Veggie Booty snack food was responsible for an outbreak of the disease last spring that sickened 61 people, the Food and Drug Administration said.
...
Veggie Booty ... says that seasoning, believed made with Chinese ingredients, contained the salmonella[.]
Who does China think it's kidding?

Oh right: Its own people. Propaganda that seems absurd to the West can actually be believed among a population perpetually denied a free press. Go figure.
