On Ferreting Out Dumb Laws
(Why aren't you reading this at the new website?)

---
There's an old line that goes: "If dropped toast always lands butter-side down, and a dropped cat always lands on its feet, then what happens if you drop a cat with butter on its back?"

Here's my version: If ferrets are banned in New York City, and ferrets can be deemed a medical necessity under the Americans With Disabilities Act, then what happens when you bring an "assistance ferret" into New York City?

No matter what the answer to this conundrum is, the two laws that give rise to it are both stupid.
