I took my mother and her friends to the observatory of the Empire State Building, on a beautiful day reminiscent of that blue-skyed Tuesday morning years ago.
Perhaps a fitting way to mourn what was destroyed is by celebrating what was not. So here are some pictures of New York's other towering achievements...
