Friday Diamondblogging: Joys and Their Toys -- Balls
(Why aren't you reading this at the new website?)

---
Next up in the special "Joys and Their Toys" series of Friday Diamondblogging is her collection of assorted balls.

I have to admit Diamond was a bit preoccupied with a non-ball toy when I did this shoot, so she's a little dejected-looking. Actually she usually looks like that. Oh well.

Here's an old felt-covered ball, except that the felt died a quick death:

I then tried a solid rubber ball, but it was a bit too big and, um, solid for Diamond's not-a-pit-bull jaws:

When it comes to tennis balls, Diamond is a bit weird. She'll chase a ball in the apartment, but not at the dog run, unless she's the only dog there, in which case she lets loose. I can't figure out why she won't even look at a ball in the dog run if there are other dogs there. Go figure.

Finally, in recognition of the first successful cloning of a dog, here's a Crichton-esque warning of what can happen when reproductive technology is used recklessly:

Conjoined tennis ball twins! Oh the horror! (Actually I call this "tennis bone," and Diamond loves it.)

Next week: Plush toys.
